King Arthur: Legend of the Sword Review - Excalibur!!!

The main plot of King Arthur legends of the Sword is after his Father is Brutally Murdered, Arthur’s uncle Vortigern takes control of Camelot. Having his birth right taken away from him, he grows up the hard way in the back alleys of the city, not knowing what his destiny will be. When fate leads him to pull the Excalibur sword from stone, Arthur embraces his true destiny to become a legendary King.

The main positive part of the film is that it embraces the greatest British legend there ever was, the way they have told the story of the great king Arthur is breath-taking. I love the places that they filmed it, Showing the great landscape that the beautiful Wales and Scotland has to offer. It truly makes it film more realistic and the fact they did not film outside the UK made it film more alive and true to its origins. The way they portray the Sword Excalibur which grants the owner to rule over England, Instead just having a normal sword they made it a magical sword that can be only be used by the blood lines of the Pendragons. The sword grants unbelievable magical power to the wielder. The sword was forged by the great and powerful Merlin, to vanquish evil that awakens. The fights scenes of the movie are very formidable and it truly gives you the raw power and hatred the movie has portrayed. Also the fight scenes make you want to watch more and the truly breath-taking abilities of the sword make you wonder he can truly control the power. I like the fact that I did not sway into acting like films of the same genre, it gives us something different and interesting without coping the likes of Lord of the Rings or Game of thrones.

The things I disliked about the movie are that Merlin didn’t appear in the film. Merlin was a great wizard and I expected him to be in the story due to the fact he is the wizard that help Arthur become the legend he is today. Also I thought that David Beckham stands out a little bit in the movie, no harsh words to the guy he’s great, but he does not fit In with the nature of the movie sorry David.

Overall the movie was great; the legend of King Arthur is one of England’s most desirable and passionate legends. The film has so many great qualities and I think it could be just as good as most medieval films. I would definitely go and watch it again, maybe you should too.
